My Favorite Cold Weather Recipes To Keep You Warm

  

I am by no means a great cook. I am however a work in progress. I used to shy away from cooking due to the fact that I was just simply not interested in it. I come from a family with strong ethnic identities which consist of strong Italian and Polish women who really enjoying cooking and most of all cooking for their families. Since I am a work in progress I am excited to share some recipes that I have enjoyed making this Fall. Seriously these recipes are easy and so delicious. Now make up an excuse to try one out, or have no shame and go for it!

Easy Peazy Chilli 

  • 2lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 can (28oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cans (16oz) chili beans in sauce undrained
  • 1 can (15oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Chilli powder 
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of cumin 
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper 
  • 1 orange, yellow and red bell pepper chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil 
  1. Brown the ground beef and set aside.
  2. In a separate pan add olive oil, garlic, bell peppers and onions and sauté until soft.
  3. Combine all ingredients into a large pot. Cover and let sit 2 hours.
  4. Add sour cream, cheese, and chopped onion and serve with a side of cornbread (krusteaz with honey is our fave!).

Warm Spinach Dip Ring 

  • Pilsbury dinner rolls
  • 8oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated Romano cheese 
  • 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream 
  • 3/4 cup of frozen shredded spinach thawed and drained 
  • 2 cloves of chopped garlic
  • 1tsp butter 
  • Garlic salt (to taste)
  • 1 tsp Italian spice
  1. Coat a 10inch pan with olive oil. Place balls of dinner rolls around the pan and set aside. 
  2. Combine all cheese with spinach, sour cream, garlic, and Italian spice in a bowl. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. Place mixture in the center of the bread ring. Brush butter and garlic salt on the dinner rolls.
  4. Place in oven at 375 for 25 minutes.

Hawaiian Roll and Ham Sandwiches 

  • 1lb deli black Forrest ham 
  • 2tbsp dried onion 
  • 1tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2tsp poppy seed 
  • 20 Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 1/2 cup butter 
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese 
  • 20 slices of provolone cheese 
  • 1 8oz containers of cream cheese 
  1. Coat 9×13 baking dish with baking spray.
  2. Place Hawaiian roll bottoms down first (set aside tops), followed by ham, then provolone cheese.
  3. Spread cream cheese on top of provolone then place Hawaiian roll tops back on. 
  4. Mix in a medium size bowl the remaining ingredients (minus poppey seeds). Then drizzle on top of sandwiches. 
  5. Sprinkle poppey seeds on sandwiches.
  6. Cover sandwiches with foil and place in oven at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. 
  7. Serve warm and grab one quick!

  1. I can personally vouch for how delicious the Warm Spinach Dip Ring is. An appetizer that is fun to share with friends and family and disappears very quickly.
